Adrienn's Birthday (and a lazy weekend in Baden)

So I pretty much had the laziest weekend ever. I passed up a ski trip and decided to stay in Baden. The ski trip would have been really fun and was a good deal but a) I don't have my skis here yet, and didn't want to pay a million dollars to rent stuff b) there's not a lot of snow yet, so it would be a lot of park riding (booerns) and c) it was Adrienn's birthday and I wanted to be around for the party!

On Friday night I played poker with Richard, Adrienn, Evan, Warren and Vance. Now I think I'm the only one in the world to think this, but I don't really like poker that much. I dunno what it is, I just can't get into it and I get bored. Unfortunatly, poker (namely, Texas Hold 'em) had become super popular in the last few years and everyone loves it. Sigh.... anyways, we played and it was pretty fun for awhile (I had some big wins and was responsible for taking Vance and Warren out of the game, mwah ha ha). But eventually I got bored...luckily the game was pretty much ending by then (Richard won....he got our 5CHF buy in, not too shabby).

THEN I showed Adrienn, Warren and Evan how to play Kaiser....now there is a card game. Ah, memories of being obsessed with it all through second year. And Warren showd us some "awesome" card tricks....haha , it was actually pretty good once it worked.

On Saturday morning, Evan and Vance and I made Adrienn breakfast. Originally, we were gonna suprise her with breakfast in bed, but I totally dropped the ball and accidentally replyed-all to an e-mail that had her in the cc list and revealed our plans.....sigh. On the plus side, we didn't have to get up so early to make sure she was still sleeping when we cooked. In fact, we ended up starting so late that she got bored waiting in bed and just came out and sat in the kitchen....haha, oh well. I made us all omlettes, which ended up pretty tasty. And Evan made us all some yummy chocolate, which we had for dessert.

CHOCOLATE!

Happy Birthday Adrienn!

Mmmm.........

The rest of the afternoon involved lazing around watching hours of cartoons haha. We watched a pretty sweet lineup of Clone High (I love that show!), Sealab, Futurama, Southpark, Harvy Birdman, and Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

Later that night we did some pre-drinking at Ziegelhau, Tommy even brought champagne for the party (we de-classyed it by drinking it while playing sociables though, lol). We then went down to Mojo where we met up with everyone else (who was around this weekend). On the way we ran into some Swiss people, who were dressed up as Santa...and strange satanic cult costumes. It was really confusing, but I later found out that Christmas traditions are different here, and Santa is accompanied by cloaked helpers instead of elves...and he comes on Dec 6 instead of Christmas Eve. If you want to learn more, click here. Though, I still don't know why they were dressed up at all to go to a bar... crazy Go-In Bar people....

After Mojo we proceeded to The Sea Rose (another Baden bar), and then Pickwicks. Afterwards, most of us continued back to Ziegelhau for the afterparty. All in all, it was a good party night, and Adrienn said she had an awesome birthday!

"Why thank you Mr. Mikalson, you look ever so classy in your new coat...is the toast for me too?"

I don't know what's funnier, the expression on Evan's face, or the extreme height difference.

Merry Christmas?

Partying at Mojo...I really can't be bothered to name everyone, so I'm not going to.

Phil and Vance...I think that glass belongs in the bar Vance, tsk tsk

Adrienn, me, Evan, Vance and Warren hanging out at Mojo

On Sunday after some solid laying in bed watching Undergrads, I managed to motivate myself to clean up the apartment. This included furniture rearranging, since we managed to score a new kitchen table from Alstom (probably legitimately)!!!! Adrienn came over and we made shortbread! Mmmm..... Good times, good times... I also did some decorating, and pulled out my old school craft skillz and made a paper chain out of old flyers to decorate our living room, haha. Looks alright actually. I'm sure the guys are pretty thrilled to have a girl living there and doing important things like decorating for Christmas, haha.

I guess looking back, at least it was a midly productive weekend. Especially if you call watching over 15 episodes of cartoons time well spent, haha. I sure do.
