Went to Paris with Adrienn June 3-6. We had an amazing time, even thought it was just 2 of us. Actually, I think that made the trip way more efficient for sight seeing. Sightseeing with more than 4 people never works out... anyways, here's some pictures that pretty much capture the highlights of the trip. I'll put more pictures up after Adrienn gives me hers.
Day 1: Friday Night
We arrived in Paris in the evening, and checking into our hostel. Nice place, shared a room with 2 girls from southern France that spoke no English. This was Ok, because Adrienn is fluent in French which was really convenient for the whole trip.
We went to the Latin Quarter (loooong walk) and met some people from Paris that took us to some bars. Fun night, got home late.
Day 2: Saturday
Tried to go see the Catcombs, but they were closed for renovation. Next stop...
Notre Dame
Was cool even though I didn't see any singing gargoyes ;)
Next we went to the Eiffel tower. I don't have the picture of me with the Eiffel Tower (on Adrienn's camera) so there's no pics of it. I figured if anybody really wanted to see just a picture of the tower they could look on the web...
View from the Eiffel Tower.
We walked up the stairs (too cheap for the elevator)
Another Eiffel Tower view.
Me and Adrienn on the Eiffel Tower!
Sacre Coeur
By night the steps were filled with people, just chilling. We stayed there for a long time listening to people play music and singing along, it was really fun.
Paris at Dusk
Too bad you can't see the Eiffel Tower from this spot.
Evening snack of bread and cheese...true france style
Day 3: Sunday
Got up early to go stand in line at the Louvre. Spent the morning there.
Crowds around the Mona Lisa
I decided the picture of the crowd was more entertaining that a picture of the painting. Adrienn got one though.
Cool shot of the Museum courtyard.
Glad we came early to beat the lines...
Haha, it was cool seeing all the landmarks that I read about in The DaVinci Code
Lunch: Cheese, bread and chicken (Adrienn got salami)
We grew very fond of our bench picnics while being in Paris (if you saw threstaurantnt prices you would too)
Musse d'Orsay (our second museum of the day...we did them both on Sunday because it was free day!)
I enjoyed this museum better than The Louvre...the painting were not all just Bible scenes.
Yay, I can take artsy shots too!
Here's your Eiffel Tower picture...
Spend the evening under tEiffelfel Tower, did you know it sparkles every hour? Really amazing too see.
Day 4: Monday
Arc de Triomphe
Was way bigger than I expected...the giant traffic circle was cool too...man, I can't imagine driving in that.
The Center Pompidou is a sweet looking building...all the pipes aescalatorors are on the outside! It was a fun place to visit, lots of Modern Art. I didn't know if I would like modern art, but some of it was actually really cool. The gift shop here was fun too, it was like an extension of the museum.
And that's the whole trip! Fun city, I'd like to come back and see more.
